Free From Fees is a startup business based in Melbourne whose goal is to redefine how payments are made in Australia and around the world – no cards, no terminals, and most importantly, no fees that eat away at profits or purchases.
Free From Fees approach 90 Degrees Digital with a tough ask – to establish branding and a full website within a 2 week period, as it was booked to attend a 2-day franchising expo in Melbourne.
The client had no design assets to draw upon – just a deep well of passion for delivering his solution to market, in order to create awareness and understanding of his vision.
90 Degrees Digital undertook a discovery process with the Free From Fees owner Dave Thatcher, to understand his background, the origin story for Free From Fees, and his business model.
We quickly develop a range of logo versions collaboratively with Dave, and landed on a concept that reflected the passion behind the brand – yet also the exultation of someone saving fees, and an emphatic, stacked, strong typeface.
At the same time, we defined the brand’s core color, a rich-magenta to reflect the driving passion behind the business. And an azure green to reflect currency and new beginnings.
Next we turned on the after burners to hastily design and develop a website including AI image creation to position the brand. A distinctive website was essential to help people understand Free From Fees’ mission, and capture their details for future follow-up.
